So I think it was probably inevitable that something like this would happen. The increasing popularity of the Twinkle iPhone app could only come hand in hand with the occasional server fail.

I’ve been using the app myself for around two weeks now in order to compare it with my previous mobile Twitter solution, Twitteriffic. I’m still very much divided between the two. Ironically, unlike most comments I’ve heard from other blogs, I actually prefer the Twinkle interface over that of Twitterffic.

Let hope Tapulous aren’t in any trouble as I’m still awaiting the FriendBook app…

I recommend twitterfon; unless you’ve tried it already and dismissed it. It’s clean, it’s quick, and it’s painless. There was a glitch on it a few weeks back due to api inconsistencies at the twitter end, but otherwise it’s been nothing but brilliant for me.

Hey Mike, I have tried it. It is still installed, which is quite impressive with my track record. I don’t hate it although I am using Twitterific at present; just because it looks far better than anything else I’ve seen.
